John Yowler

Yowler was the pitching coach in 2007 and 2008 for NCAA Division III-power Rowan University in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Yowler also served as pitching coach on current Bulldogs' skipper Keith Gorman's coaching staff at Cumberland County College (N.J.) from 2013-19. Yowler helped lead the Dukes to three College World Series appearances including a national title in 2019. Yowler was also a key player in six Cumberland County pitchers being drafted by MLB.

Yowler was the fourth overall pick in the 1982 Major League Baseball January draft by the San Diego Padres. Yowler spent three professional seasons with the Kansas City Royals before an injury ended his professional career.

Yowler is known as one of the best athletes to come out Southern New Jersey. His .676 batting average his senior year in 1980 is still the all-time highest in Southern New Jersey history. Yowler accepted a baseball scholarship to the University of Nebraska after high school.

Yowler and his wife, Kelsie, have a son, Auden.
